Broiled Honey-Nut Bananas

Broiled  Honey-Nut Bananas

Ingredients

  • ½ cup walnut halves
  • ½ cup sliced almonds
  • 2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 bananas

Instructions

Heat the broiler (with the oven rack about 4 inches from the top). Chop the walnuts and add to a medium bowl along with the almonds, brown sugar, honey, and salt. Stir together. Cut the butter into small pieces and add to the bowl. Use your fingers to break the butter into very small pieces and combine with the nut mixture.

Peel the bananas and slice them in half lengthwise. Place them, cut side up, on a rimmed sheet pan. Crumble the nut mixture over each half. Broil until the nuts are golden brown, 1 to 2 minutes.
