Active Time: 5 minutes | Total Time: 5 minutes | Serves 1
- 1 lime, plus more for serving
- Kosher salt
- 1½ ounces tequila blanco
- 1 ounce Cointreau
Cut the lime in half. Rub the cut part of the lime along the rim of a 12-ounce glass. Pour some kosher salt on a small plate and gently shake into a thin layer (the size of the circle of salt should be a little larger than the glass). Dip the rim of the glass in the salt.
Squeeze the lime into a cocktail shaker. Add the tequila and Cointreau. Add 2 handfuls of ice. Cover tightly. Shake vigorously.
Fill the prepared glass with ice (all the way to the top) and pour in the margarita. Add another small squeeze of lime.
